About DS
DS Automobiles is a French premium automotive brand under the Stellantis N.V. group, headquartered in Paris, and created to embody French luxury, craftsmanship, and technological sophistication. Originally launched in 2009 as a sub brand of Citroën, DS became an independent marque in 2014, allowing it to establish a distinct identity focused on design, refinement, and innovation. The name pays homage to the legendary 1955 Citroën DS, one of the most iconic vehicles in automotive history, symbolizing avant garde engineering and elegance.
DS Automobiles plays a leading role in Stellantis' electrification strategy, offering a fully electrified lineup across its DS 3, DS 4, DS 7, and DS 9 models. Built on the group's modular EMP2 and CMP platforms, these vehicles are available as plug in hybrids or fully electric variants, combining refined design with advanced driver assistance systems and intelligent energy management. The DS 3 E Tense was the brand's first fully electric model, featuring a compact design, 400 km of range, and a focus on quiet, smooth urban driving.
Beyond powertrain technology, DS emphasizes craftsmanship and interior artistry, with hand stitched leather, real metal trim, and distinctive lighting design that reflect French haute couture. The brand also serves as a technology incubator for Stellantis, introducing digital innovations such as DS Iris infotainment, predictive navigation, and adaptive suspension systems that later flow into other group brands. DS's experience in Formula E racing further supports the transfer of electric performance technologies to its road cars.
As part of its "DS Electrified 2024" initiative, the brand is transitioning to a 100 percent electric lineup, with its next generation models to be built on Stellantis' STLA Medium platform offering enhanced range, efficiency, and computing capability. DS Automobiles aims to position itself as the embodiment of French luxury in the electric era, combining sustainable technology with timeless design and craftsmanship.
