About the Subaru brand

Subaru Corporation is a Japanese automaker renowned for its symmetrical all-wheel-drive systems, boxer engines, and strong safety reputation. As part of its transition to electrification, Subaru has begun expanding beyond hybrids to fully electric vehicles co-developed with Toyota under their shared EV strategy.

The company's first battery electric vehicle, the Solterra, shares Toyota's e-TNGA platform and offers up to 460 kilometers of range (WLTP). It features Subaru's trademark off-road stability, X-Mode traction control, and enhanced chassis rigidity for improved safety and handling. Production takes place in Toyota's Motomachi plant, ensuring global quality consistency.

Subaru plans to release several new electric crossovers by 2026, including domestically developed models built in its Gunma facility. The company will also introduce a dedicated EV platform in the late 2020s, integrating its all-wheel-drive heritage with next-generation solid-state batteries and Subaru's EyeSight driver assistance suite.

Subaru is in the early phase of full electrification, currently offering the Solterra as its flagship BEV. With additional models planned and investments in EV-dedicated manufacturing, Subaru is preparing for a gradual transition while preserving its off-road and safety DNA.
