Lightyear is a Dutch technology company that is focused on developing all-electric battery electric vehicle (BEV) cars and SUVs that offer impressive range and efficiency. The company was founded in 2016 by a team of former Solar Team Eindhoven members who won the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in 2013, 2015, and 2017.

Lightyear's first production model is the Lightyear One, a sleek and stylish electric car that is powered by a combination of solar panels and traditional charging. The Lightyear One offers a range of up to 450 miles and can be charged using a standard electric vehicle charger or by using the solar panels on the roof of the car. The Lightyear One also features advanced technology such as a 60 kWh battery pack and four in-wheel electric motors.

Lightyear has also recently announced the Lightyear One SUV, a larger and more spacious version of the Lightyear One. The Lightyear One SUV features the same advanced technology as the Lightyear One, but offers more interior space and cargo room. The Lightyear One SUV is expected to have a range of up to 500 miles.

Lightyear's commitment to sustainability is evident in its use of solar panels to power its vehicles. By using solar power, Lightyear is able to significantly reduce the carbon footprint of its cars and SUVs. In addition, Lightyear is committed to using sustainable materials in the production of its vehicles.

Overall, Lightyear is a promising player in the all-electric BEV market, offering impressive range and efficiency with its solar-powered vehicles. With the release of the Lightyear One and the upcoming Lightyear One SUV, we can expect to see even more innovative and sustainable electric cars and SUVs from Lightyear in the future.
