About ORA

ORA is a dedicated electric vehicle brand under the Great Wall Motor (GWM) Group of China, headquartered in Baoding, Hebei Province. Established in 2018, ORA was created as GWM's pure electric passenger car division, focusing on design-led, high-tech, and accessible urban EVs. The brand name "ORA" pays tribute to physicist Erwin Schrödinger and the mathematical symbol for the quantum wave function (?, or "ora"), symbolizing intelligence, curiosity, and innovation in the electric era.

ORA's design philosophy blends retro-inspired styling with cutting-edge EV technology, appealing to younger and design-conscious consumers. Its product lineup includes the ORA Good Cat (Haomao), ORA Funky Cat (international name), ORA Ballet Cat, ORA Lightning Cat, and ORA Punk Cat. These models span compact hatchbacks to sporty fastbacks, combining playful aesthetics with modern digital interiors. The Good Cat/Funky Cat is the brand's global bestseller, featuring a 63 kWh battery, 126 kW front motor, and a range of up to 480 kilometers (NEDC), positioning it against models like the VW ID.3 and MG4.

The ORA Ballet Cat and ORA Punk Cat draw direct inspiration from vintage automotive design, pairing 1950s-style exteriors with advanced electric drivetrains. Meanwhile, the ORA Lightning Cat, launched in 2023, serves as the brand's performance flagship- a mid-size electric sedan offering dual-motor all-wheel drive, 300 kW (402 hp) output, and 600 kilometers of range (CLTC). Built on GWM's L.E.M.O.N. platform and powered by its in-house battery and motor systems, ORA vehicles feature high structural safety and competitive charging performance, with 80% fast charging achievable in around 40 minutes.

ORA's interiors emphasize digital integration, featuring dual floating displays, AI-based voice assistance, and ADAS Level 2+ intelligent driving systems. The brand uses sustainable materials and customizable color schemes to appeal to younger drivers and eco-conscious urban consumers.
