GM consolidated its EVs on Ultium and is now cutting capacity and switching to cheaper LFP cells
Ultium carries the Chevrolet Equinox, Blazer and Silverado EVs, the Cadillac Lyriq, Optiq, Vistiq and Escalade IQ, and the GMC Hummer and Sierra EVs; the Chevrolet Bolt returned for the 2027 model year as an LFP car. Honda's Prologue uses Ultium; the Acura ZDX built on it has ended.
GM wound down the BrightDrop electric vans in 2025 and shut the Cruise robotaxi business in December 2024. Its cell supply runs through Ultium Cells with LG Energy Solution and a joint plant with Samsung SDI.
In China GM holds 44% of SAIC-GM-Wuling, which sells Wuling and Baojun small EVs; those brands appear below as partner brands and on SAIC EV Brands.
