Stellantis EV Brands

STLA platforms · e-CMP · Leapmotor

Stellantis owns more car brands than any other group, and spreads a handful of platforms across them. The most software-defined architecture in its orbit is Leapmotor's, not its own.

Finding

Stellantis has cut its EV ambitions back and is leaning on Leapmotor and CATL for cost and software

Stellantis holds about 21% of Leapmotor and 51% of Leapmotor International, which sells Leapmotor cars outside China; Leapmotor's LEAP 3.0 architecture is zonal with full-vehicle OTA. Stellantis' own e-CMP, EMP2 and Smart Car platforms are classed legacy, and STLA Medium and STLA Large transitional.

The pullback shows in the lineup: Chrysler has no battery-electric model available, Maserati canceled the MC20 Folgore, Alfa Romeo moved its next Giulia and Stelvio to multi-energy, and the Dodge Charger now comes as EV and six-cylinder. Opel and Vauxhall are the same cars under two badges; Vauxhall rows resolve to the Opel masters.

Battery supply runs through joint ventures: an LFP cell plant with CATL in Zaragoza, ACC with Mercedes-Benz and TotalEnergies, and StarPlus Energy with Samsung SDI in the US.

Brands with the most models available come first. Available counts canonical battery-electric passenger models available or in fleet-only series production; Tracked adds announced, shown, concept, discontinued and canceled models. Plug-in hybrids and range extenders are out of scope, so brands that sell mostly those show few models. Each brand links to its portfolio page.

  • Voltage: nominal pack architecture, 400 V or 800 V class; mixed means the platform carries both.
  • E/E architecture: distributed (one ECU per function), domain (one controller per domain) or zonal (zone controllers wired to central compute).
  • OTA and SDV maturity: how much of the car updates over the air, from infotainment only to full-vehicle, and whether the software stack is legacy, transitional or software-defined.

A blank cell means the classification is not yet researched. Group models counts the group's own masters on the platform, all statuses except excluded. Terms: SDV capabilities explained; platform families: Automaker EV Platforms.
