Geely is pulling its brands into two passenger pillars on shared platforms, while its Western brands face US connected-vehicle limits
Since December 2025 Geely Auto runs two pillars: Geely Auto Group (Geely, Galaxy, Radar) and Zeekr Technology Group (Zeekr, Lynk & Co); Geely took Zeekr private and delisted it from the NYSE in 2025. SEA carries Zeekr, smart, Lynk & Co, the Volvo EX30, Polestar and Galaxy models.
The US Commerce Department gave Volvo specific authorization in May 2026 to keep selling connected cars despite Geely ownership; Polestar was denied for the 2027 model year onward and is restructuring after heavy losses. Lotus cut jobs at Hethel and paused US shipments of its China-built EVs.
smart is a 50:50 joint venture with Mercedes-Benz; Ji Yue, the venture with Baidu, collapsed in 2024 and entered pre-reorganization in November 2025. Geely and Renault run the HORSE Powertrain joint venture, so Renault Group brands appear among the partner brands.
