XPENG

Turing chip · SEPA 2.0 · IRON · Volkswagen

XPENG builds cars, robots and a flying car around one in-house chip and driving model. Volkswagen pays to use the same architecture, which makes XPENG a technology supplier as well as an automaker.

Diagram of XPENG's product lines around its in-house Turing AI chip and VLA driving model: cars (G6, G7, P7, X9, MONA), robotaxis in trial service in 2026, the IRON humanoid robot with a volume production target at the end of 2026, the Aridge Land Aircraft Carrier flying car, and Volkswagen, which licenses the China Electrical Architecture and Turing chips. Bars show XPENG deliveries: 141,601 in 2023, 190,068 in 2024 and 429,445 in 2025. Finding

XPENG more than doubled deliveries in 2025 and is the first Chinese EV startup to license its electrical architecture and chips to a global automaker

XPENG delivered 429,445 vehicles in 2025, up 126%, led by the low-cost MONA M03 and the G6 and G7 SUVs. Volkswagen bought about 5% of XPENG in 2024, co-developed the China Electrical Architecture (CEA) with it, and will use Turing chips in VW models built in China from 2026.

XPENG's engineering spends go into three layers it owns: SEPA 2.0 (Fuyao), a modular body platform with front and rear castings and full-domain 800 V silicon carbide power electronics; X-EEA 3.0, a central computer with zonal controllers; and the Turing AI chip, which replaced NVIDIA Orin X in the G7 Ultra in 2025 and runs XPENG's vision-language-action (VLA) driving model. See XPENG EV Platforms.

The same chip and model stack runs the products beyond cars. XPENG plans robotaxi trial service in Guangzhou in 2026 with Alibaba's Amap, targets volume production of the next-generation IRON humanoid by the end of 2026, and its affiliate Aridge (formerly XPeng AeroHT) is building the Land Aircraft Carrier, a six-wheel electric vehicle that carries a two-seat eVTOL, at a dedicated plant in Guangzhou. XPENG also sells range-extended Kunpeng models, which are outside ElectronsX coverage.

Plants

Plants and factories

All XPENG vehicle plants are in Guangdong and Hubei; Europe is supplied partly by Magna Steyr. See the EV gigafactory directory.

Battery

Battery cells and lines

XPENG designs packs and buys cells; it has no cell plant. Its 5C LFP packs charge to most of a full pack in about 12 minutes. See battery cell gigafactories, EV battery chemistries and CATL battery platforms.

Platforms

Vehicle platforms

SEPA 2.0 (Fuyao) carries the G6, G7, second-generation P7, P7+, X9 and MONA M03, all on 800 V. X-EEA 3.0 debuted on the G9 and now spans the range. Turing chips arrived in the G7 Ultra and P7 Ultra in 2025. The earlier Edward platform carried the first P7 and the P5. Full comparison: XPENG EV Platforms.

Beyond cars

Robots, autonomy and energy

XPENG runs more non-car programs than any other EV maker except Tesla. See robotaxi fleets, humanoid robots and compute platforms.
