About the RAM brand
Ram Trucks (stylized as RAM) is an American truck and commercial vehicle brand under the Stellantis Group, headquartered in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Established as a standalone division in 2009 after separating from Dodge, Ram has become one of North America's leading pickup truck manufacturers, renowned for its towing power, luxury interiors, and innovation in work-focused utility. Today, Ram is advancing aggressively toward electrification, blending traditional truck strength with next-generation EV technology.
Ram's electrification strategy was officially unveiled under the "Ram Revolution" program, positioning the brand to compete directly with the Ford F-150 Lightning, Rivian R1T, and Chevrolet Silverado EV. Its first fully electric model, the Ram 1500 REV, made its debut in 2024. Built on Stellantis's advanced STLA Frame platform- an evolution of the body-on-frame architecture optimized for full-size electric trucks- the 1500 REV offers up to 487 kilometers (300 miles) of range with its standard 168 kWh battery pack, or up to 805 kilometers (500 miles) with the optional 229 kWh long-range pack.
The Ram 1500 REV is powered by dual 250 kW (335 hp) electric drive modules delivering up to 480 kW (654 hp) combined output and 840 Nm of torque, allowing 0-100 km/h acceleration in approximately 4.5 seconds. It supports 800-volt fast charging up to 350 kW, adding around 180 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes. The truck features bidirectional Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capabilities, along with a front trunk ("frunk") offering 425 liters of additional storage.
Inside, the 1500 REV introduces one of the most advanced cabins in the pickup segment, with a 14.5-inch central touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital cluster, and a 10.3-inch passenger-side interactive display. It integrates Stellantis's Uconnect 5 system with OTA updates, a high-end Klipsch audio system, and AI-based driver assistance. The interior design blends ruggedness with luxury, using premium materials and sustainable trims to align with Ram's evolving sustainability goals.
Alongside the REV, Ram is developing an extended-range variant called the Ramcharger- an electric truck featuring a small onboard gasoline generator that recharges the battery during operation. This model offers over 1,100 kilometers (700 miles) of total range, targeting users in remote or infrastructure-limited regions. Both models underscore Ram's pragmatic approach to electrification: providing electric performance without compromising capability or range confidence.
Ram's future EV roadmap includes midsize electric trucks and commercial vans built on Stellantis's STLA Large and STLA Medium platforms, allowing the brand to electrify its entire lineup by the early 2030s. The company's North American operations are supported by Stellantis's new Gigafactory in Windsor, Ontario, developed in partnership with LG Energy Solution, ensuring local battery production and vertical supply integration.
By combining traditional truck DNA- towing, payload, and endurance- with cutting-edge EV systems, Ram is positioning itself as the electric workhorse for both commercial and recreational users. Its strategy focuses not only on electrifying its best-selling models but also on expanding the possibilities of what electric trucks can achieve.
Electrification Status
Ram is a transitioning automaker rapidly advancing toward full electrification. With the launch of the 1500 REV and Ramcharger leading its EV portfolio- and additional midsize and fleet EVs in development- the brand merges proven utility with high-voltage innovation to deliver powerful, capable, and intelligent zero-emission trucks for the modern era.
