Description

Lexus, the luxury car division of Japanese automaker Toyota, has announced its first-ever battery-electric vehicle (BEV), the Lexus RZ 450e EV. The RZ 450e EV is the brand's first model built on Toyota's e-TNGA platform, a dedicated platform for electric vehicles.

The RZ 450e EV is a compact SUV, similar in size to the Toyota RAV4, and is expected to have a range of around 186 miles on a single charge. The vehicle has a dual-motor setup, with one electric motor powering the front wheels and another electric motor powering the rear wheels, providing all-wheel drive capabilities.

The RZ 450e EV features advanced safety technologies, including the Lexus Safety System+ and the Lexus Teammate advanced driving assist system. The vehicle has a sleek and modern design, with a spacious and luxurious interior.

The RZ 450e EV is the first of many new electric vehicles from Lexus, as the company plans to launch a total of 20 new or updated models by 2025, with electrified vehicles accounting for more than half of its global sales by that time. In addition to the RZ 450e EV, Lexus is also working on an electric version of its popular UX SUV, which is set to launch in Europe in 2023.

Lexus' move into the electric vehicle market is part of a larger trend in the automotive industry, as more and more automakers are introducing electric and hybrid vehicles to meet emissions regulations and consumer demand for more sustainable transportation options. With its reputation for luxury and quality, the Lexus RZ 450e EV is sure to attract a lot of attention from car buyers looking for an electric SUV with premium features and performance.
